LAX CELEBRITIES

Taking a flight out of Los Angeles International Airport is always a treat. I have no idea why, but for some reason people leaving L.A. like to pretend that they're celebrities! It's bizarre!! I fly a lot. In the last 6 months, I've been on at least 10 flights in and out of LAX, and on EVERY flight there's at least two people who wear a hat and sunglasses, and SIT IN COACH!!

I personally feel that the combination of a hat and sunglasses - worn indoors - SCREAMS "Look at me...look at me...I'M SOO AWESOME THAT I HAVE TO HIDE MY FACE FROM YOU!!!!"

These people almost always look the exact same too!! They are usually reading script - VERY obviously, and are always dressed like they walked straight off of a high-fashion runway and onto the plane. Of course we all KNOW that they're nobody rich and famous, or WHY would they be sitting in COACH with us little people? The whole spectacle of it all makes me laugh though, so I hope they keep doing it.

I've also noticed a lot more primping happening in the bathrooms at LAX than I have seen in other airports. In say... Cleveland or Chicago, you might see a woman brush her hair, or touch up her lipstick in the mirror. But at LAX, there is ALWAYS at least one girl in EVERY bathroom with her whole makeup bag spread out like the cosmetic counter at Macys. This girl is getting ready for her MOMENT to walk through the see and be seen world that is LAX.

I really thought I'd seen it all when it comes to looking perfect at the airport, until my last flight. I walked into a ladies room at LAX, and saw a girl with her CURLING IRON plugged into the wall, CURLING HER HAIR in the LAX BATHROOM!!! I don't even know what to say about that, except THAT is SOOO L.A.!!!
